1 Day Belly Rolls, Flutters and Isolations Intensive belly dance workshop

Level: Open level – options will be provided so you can work at your own level (not suitable for complete beginners)
Learn how to really belly roll, flutter and isolate while understanding belly dance rhythms with Melissa.
I will be sharing development exercises, tips and technique on how to execute these movements.
Then we work on isolation technique and combinations with key belly dance rhythms in a workshop on how to internalise our movements and develop our technique using a very overlooked approach yet a key under valued one of our 5 senses.
Often as dancers when we are drilling and practicing whether in class or personal practice- we rely on our eyes first and then ears second. We can over look and under appreciate the power of using our inner sense to dance and often use our sight as an easy go to; to tell our bodies how to move.
In this workshop we will learn how to internalise the rhythms and syncopated sounds learning how to tap into our bodies internal workings to feel out the sounds and rhythms, feeling the muscles at work and embodying the positioning and timing of belly dance movements.
We will tap into our bodies natural ability to pick up and respond to movement while recognising and remembering how it feels, trusting our bodies and inner sense not just our eyes.Come on a journey with me and dance from the inside out and then the outside in.
Find a new internal way of belly dancing and muscular control.
