This blog is accompanied by a video tutorial masterclass taster as I cover the  trademark belly dance snake arm and completely break it down to its most basic form with a few extra tips to help you make them extra snakey and extra silky smooth and seamless.

Speaking from personal experience and witnessing my students development I've learnt that 'nice' arm work tends to be the last thing a belly dancer masters.

If you look at a belly dancer performing her arms are a sure giveaway to her current belly dancing level/ ability.
As a belly dancer we are so focused on getting the 'moves' right and focusing on the muscular techniques of the torso and hips that we often neglect our 'arms' until we see a video of ourselves and notice that they most definately need some work!

Check out the video that goes with this blog and remember the following points that I discuss during the tutorial.
- arm posture slightly in front and diagonal with a very soft 'w' shape
- start the snake arms from your shoulders
- travel through each joint and muscle
- wrist positioning
- don't forget about the shoulder roll and shoulder blade
- dont forget to apply the use of your wrist and fingers.

Have fun!!
